Old friends are like my favorite pair of slippers.....

I always say that I have a few friends that are like my favorite pair of comfy slippers. It doesn't matter how much time has passed since I last saw them. We can pick back up right where we last left off, and it seems like they have always been there....just like my favorite pair of slippers:).
Tonight, we had the pleasure of meeting up with one of my dearest friends that I have known for years. I can honestly say that "Mitchell" is my oldest friend because I have known her since birth. Our parents were good friends, and they also were our neighbors. I remember as a child spending countless hours playing, building forts, riding bikes, listening to our "boom boxes," and decorating each other with our mothers makeup and clothes. Her mom made the BEST french dips that I have ever tasted. Mitchell actually had an amazing mom that passed away a few years ago of cancer. She was such a wonderful woman and always made me feel like I was part of the family. She had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room, and even after they moved several hours away she would welcome our entire family into her home whenever we would pass thru their town. I feel very blessed to of known her. Thank you, Mitchell for sharing your mom with me as a kid. She was a beautiful person both on the inside and out, as was S.T. I miss them both!

Mitchell still lives a few hours away, but thankfully she and her family make their way over to our neck of the woods every once in a while b/c she still has some relatives here. It was fun to see our little munchkins running around and playing together just as we did 20---uhm, I mean 30 years ago.
The A' family....Mitchell, Mr. A., Little Miss A., and adorable little Mr. G.
The buddies....Miss A., Mr. G., Darling D., and Mr. J. (Miss M. was at a Christmas party at a friends house)

One of my favorite pair of slippers (oops, I mean Mitchell)
